Perfect relaxation and even dinner served too my room, thank you so much.

The rooms were very nice and reasonably large. The early breakfast (from 6 o'clock) was limited, but good. Unfortunately parking to the reception quite a distance. Nevertheless, it is quite feasible.
The rooms facing the street were correspondingly loud.

The friendly staff ensured our early morning departure went smoothly, even providing breakfast options before dawn. The lovely views from our room's balcony made for a relaxing end to our day.

The room was clean and tidy and the bathroom was spotless
The hotel promised WiFi but did not have it. I booked this hotel specifically because I wanted WiFi. The hotel staff on duty (just one person was not able to help). There was a wired connection in the room but this was of limited use to me. The hotel doesn't feel like 4* - more like a B&B which is fine but not at £90 a night.

The staff are very friendly and the offer of a drink was a nice touch.
The car park is a long way from the front door with luggage in the rain. Shame the front car park is not available to customers.

easy walking access to beautiful parks and vineyards nearby
We had a lovely stay celebrating our anniversary, enjoying a beautiful spacious room with a large balcony, and the surrounding area is perfect for city strolls, with Blagdon Lake just almost 2 km away for a good park view, and Aldwick Court Farm & Vineyard situated just over 2 km away for an easy weekend outing.

The room was excellent!
Very small hotel, only six or so rooms. No bar just a small lounge, which would seat four comfortably. This is fine as long as you are not a business traveller who prefers a big lounge or bar.

The location and the indoor swimming pool were great. The room was comfortable and of a good size. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The only thing that was not quite right and it is very minor, is that the sink in the bathroom had no facility to keep hot water in the basin for shaving so had to have a fairly cold shave.

The countryside setting provides a soothing atmosphere. The standard double room delivered an excellent interior with tasteful decor and a spacious layout.
The parking lot sits a bit of a trek from the entrance, not the best for anyone with mobility issues, which could add to the fatigue after a long trip. Maneuvering down the steep steps with suitcases was a real challenge after a tiring journey, especially since there wasn't any visible sign guiding an easier route. The proximity to the A38 means crossing can be treacherous if you're heading out for a meal, so it's crucial to be on guard. Breakfast lacked variety. While advertised as continental, it disappointingly missed out on croissants or pastries, offering only toast and cereals instead. Better lighting on the steps leading to reception would also enhance safety, especially during late or early hours.

A delightful, friendly, old-world hotel. Nicely furnished with both antique and modern trimmings. A million miles away from the anonymous, characterless chain hotels I often have the misfortune to stay in....
